The interchangeable nature of possession, leading to rapid changes from attacking to defending, means that the game is developing and improving a wide range of skills.

Due to the nature of playing on sand there are some variances to the conventional game of rugby check out the rules so you can play the fun, fast-paced, summery and exciting sport of beach rugby.

mallorcarugby.Com has been set up to make the new all-weather, floodlit rugby pitch which has very recently been built in Mallorca available to touring teams from the UK and elsewhere.

The pitch and facilities are situated in Son Caliu which is in the municipality of Calvià, on the south western part of the island just 20 minutes by motorway from Palma de Mallorca’s airport.

Calvià boasts a coastline stretching 54 Kms with no less than 36 beaches.

It is midway between the jet-setter’s marina of Puerto Portals and the beach holiday resort of Palmanova (300 metres away) which offers a wide range of excellent quality and economic accommodation, literally just minutes from the rugby facility.

The Mediterranean climate, with an average of 300 days of sunshine a year along with an average temperature of 27 degrees centigrade in the summer and a mild 14 degs. C in the winter has already contributed to Mallorca’s established position as a favourite holiday destination.

Add this to the wide range of leisure, cultural and gastronomic experiences and activities within an established infrastructure that goes with such a resort and it thus provides a unique venue for any sports enthusiast.

mallorcarugby.com is headed by two British, ex-rugby players, John Rule and Paul Galle, who have considerable experience of rugby as a sport and social experience, are long time residents of the Island of Mallorca and know the best of the extensive additional leisure facilities to suit all tastes, pockets and ages that combined will make this new rugby experience a must for all rugby enthusiasts looking for a tour venue.

mallorcarugby.com will be organising rugby festivals for both codes of Union and League and all sectors: – men, women, veteran, junior, mini ; 15-a-side and sevens.

At the present time mallorcarugby.com is researching the very best packages of accommodation, airport transfers and additional leisure, cultural and gastronomic activities and experiences to offer touring teams. These will soon be published on this website.
